EastEnders Nicola Mitchell's real intentions 'rumbled' as prison connection 'confirmed'

Teddy Mitchell and his family may have nothing to fear from Nicola - but Sharon Watts may need to look over her shoulder.

The newcomer portrayed by received a warm welcome from viewers this Monday, as she rocked up Walford while her oldest son Harry was being arrested for the murder of his ex-girlfriend Shireen. This Tuesday (November 12), Nicola continued to fight her son's battles by giving him an alibi.

But once she returned to Teddy's home at No.1 Albert Square, Nicola was met with her estranged husband's hostility when she insisted that she was a changed woman after a trip to Bali - which prompted Teddy () to reveal that she had actually gone to prison.

While the rest of her life prior to her Walford arrival remains shrouded in mystery, Nicola's past stint in prison could suggest she has a connection to Chrissie Watts, played by .

The villainess was recently released from behind bars, where she bumped into Sharon Watts () in September, and was last seen driving away from Albert Square with Jake Moon, who unexpectedly returned for the occasions.

However, with Nicola's past in prison, one theory could suggest that Chrissie may be trying to get under Sharon's skin through Nicola, despite making amends with her former stepdaughter during her last appearance in the show.

Teddy was previously thought to share a connection with Chrissie Watts and, amid theories that he could embark on a romantic relationship with Sharon, Nicola will, either way, be an obstacle for her.

To top it all off, another batch of soap fans have suggested that Nicola may take part in her own affair with Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden): "I think Phil & Nicola will end up getting together. Teddy going for Phil’s ex wife and Phil going for Teddy’s will be interesting." But what will Nicola really do?

Elsewhere in the Square, trouble knocked on Suki's () door in the form of Bernie Taylor (), as Keanu's distraught sister struggled to cope with the truth about her brother's murder.

Meanwhile, Avani Gulati () dropped a bombshell on Eve Unwin () by revealing her grandmother Suki and Nish had received a wedding blessing.

This was enough to cause turmoil for Suki and Eve's relationship, leading the latter to drown her sorrows in the Queen Vic moments later - where she found a devastated Bernie, reeling in the wake of Nish Panesar's incarceration for the crime. And when Eve and Bernie wound up at the same table, Suki's other half was finally told about her biggest secret yet.

Though Suki didn't kill Keanu, she took part in the actions that helped cover up his murder, meaning that she'd likely be incarcerated herself for obstruction of justice. But will Eve sell her out to the authorities?
