Emmerdale star teases return for village favourite in Rebecca White death fallout

One star has teased a possible return for a village favourite and a member of the Sugden family after some death news.

Just days ago fans wondered if Robert Sugden could make a return to the soap, with or without his son Seb White, following Rebecca White's death. Seb's mother passed away offscreen a few months ago while it was only announced this week.

Robert knows about the death and has permitted for his son to be cared for by Rebecca's aunt. The news left Victoria Sugden reeling, having no idea her former pal Rebecca had died and that her nephew had moved away, no longer living with stepfather Ross Barton.

Ross returned to the village earlier this week after six years away, delivering the news of his loss and where Seb was to Victoria and Robert's ex-husband Aaron Dingle. With this news came the fact Robert had been in touch and Ross had visited him, but he clearly wasn't ready to reach out to those in the village.

Amid rumours and viewer hopes that Robert could now make a comeback, especially following the arrival of his secret brother John Sugden, might any other of the Sugdens head back to the village? Speaking exclusively to The recently, Sarah Sugden actress Katie Hill teased this could well happen one day.

She shared her hopes that following John's arrival, a past fan favourite might finally head back to the show after eight years away. Sarah's father Andy Sugden, played by , fled on the run in 2016 after being set up by Chrissie White.

So will he finally head back to the show as fans have long called for? Katie told us she hopes he comes back soon, saying it "would be great" for Sarah to see her dad after so long.

She told us of the future return hopes: "There is only her and Victoria in the village, so when I heard a Sugden was coming in I was like yay! It is really great working with [Oliver Farnworth who plays John].

"It's exciting to have him in the village and to see where his character goes, and if we will build any more of a relationship." Discussing the rumour of a character return with fans guessing it might be a Sugden, Katie told us: "That would be so cool. I've never worked with Kelvin who played Andy, my dad, cos he wasn't on the show when I joined.

"That would be really him coming back and pretending to be my dad cos I've never met the man! But I would love to see Andy come back, I think that would be great."
