The next five episodes of Outer Banks season four are almost upon us and the recent trailer has given fans a thrilling hint at what’s to come.
Part two will be dropping later this week, on Thursday, November 7, and pick up with the Pogues hunting treasure in Morocco.
Last month’s midseason finale concluded with the stunning revelation that JJ Maybank (played by Rudy Pankow) is not actually Luke’s (Gary Weeks) biological son, but is actually the offspring of Chandler Groff (J. Anthony Crane) and Larissa Genrette, who was believed to have drowned with her baby years ago.
Following the new trailer, subscribers have been discussing what’s to come, including a tense moment between Rafe Cameron (Drew Starkey) and John B Routledge (Chase Stokes).
“I was watching the trailer again when I noticed Rafe pulling out a knife on John B,” they wrote on Reddit.
“This went unnoticed I think bcz I saw nobody talking about it. What do you guys thinks? Will Rafe betray the pogues when he finally gets the treasure??”
Considering Rafe was keen to make amends with his sister Sarah Cameron (Madelyn Cline) in the last outing, some fans might be surprised to see him leaning into his villainy again.
However, most viewers have been less than shocked as Rafe has famously put the gang in harm's way throughout the first three seasons.
One fan simply replied: “That is on brand for Rafe.”
“Not surprised tbh I mean it's Rafe,” another said, to which the original poster responded: “My a** thought he was having his redemption arc.”
“Can’t betray someone you ain’t cool with to begin with. None of this is surprising,” someone else explained.
On the other hand, some fans think this moment from the trailer could be a misdirect and Rafe will finally come around to help the Pogues this time.
“All I know is a big name is dying this season not sure who I just know someone is but I think rafe is gonna help them actually,” one fan replied.
And another speculated: “I think he’s gonna have his redemption episode for sure.”
For now, though, viewers haven’t been given many clues besides the trailer so they’ll have to sit tight for a few more days until Outer Banks season four, part two finally drops.
An official synopsis from Netflix reads: “Before they know it, they’re well in over their heads, with dangerous new enemies hot on their heels racing them to the treasure.
“Meanwhile, their problems are only growing, and they’re forced to question their past, present, and future — who they really are, has it all been worth it, and how much are they willing to risk?”
Outer Banks season 4, part 2 will be released Thursday, November 7 on Netflix.
