A shorter version of the popular Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is coming to Broadway next month.
The new version will premiere on Broadway when new cast members take over and begin performances at Lyric Theatre on November 12. Currently, the play runs for three and a half hours but the new version will last for just under three.
This marks the second time the play has been shortened while on Broadway, according to . The original production was even longer and ran for a mammoth five hours and 15 minutes in total.
At the time, the show was performed in two parts to give audiences and actors time to take a break. After the pandemic the play was cut down into just one part.

The original Broadway production won six Tony Awards, including best play and the show has been renowned for its stagecraft and special effects. The UK production opened first - in 2016 - while the Broadway production began in 2018.
