Very few people know that Google has a special tool that monitors the security of your password and immediately warns in case of leak. The name of this tool is Google Password Checkup.

What is Google Password Checkup?

Just as a doctor checks your body, similarly this tool regularly "checks" your saved passwords and checks whether your passwords are involved in any data breach or leak. If any password is leaked, this tool sends you an immediate alert so that you can change the password in time.

When does this tool work?

It is worth noting that this feature will work only when you have saved your passwords in Google Password Manager. If your important passwords are stored in Google, then this tool tracks them and informs you immediately in case of any danger.

How to save passwords in Google Password Manager?

Open Google Chrome browser on your laptop or computer.

Click on the three dots (⋮) given on the top right.

Now go to the "Passwords and Autofill" or "Password Manager" option.

Here you will see options like Passwords, Checkup, and Settings on the left side.

To save the password, go to Passwords and tap on Add.

If the passwords are already saved, then you can tap on Checkup.

What information will this checkup provide?

In the Compromised Passwords section, you will be able to see if any password has been leaked or not. This tool will also tell you for which apps you have used weak passwords. Also, it will also show you in how many different accounts you have repeated the same password.

How to check on mobile?

If you save passwords on the phone, then you can go to Settings > Google > Autofill with Google > Password Manager to see if your password has been leaked or if a weak password has been set.
