Send Push

In a significant development for medical aspirants across the country, the NEET PG 2025 examination—which was scheduled to take place on June 15—has been officially postponed. The decision was taken following a directive issued by the Supreme Court, mandating that the exam be conducted in a single shift for all candidates.

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) confirmed the postponement through an official notice released on the evening of June 2, 2025. According to the announcement, new exam dates will be declared soon after the necessary logistical arrangements are completed.

Why Was the NEET PG 2025 Exam Postponed?

Initially, the NEET PG exam was scheduled to be conducted in two separate shifts on June 15. However, the Supreme Court intervened in response to petitions filed by candidates, emphasizing the need for fairness and transparency in the examination process. The court ordered that the exam be held in a single session, which posed significant logistical challenges for NBEMS, including the need to increase the number of exam centers.

As a result, the board had no option but to defer the exam to a later date. Ensuring a uniform testing environment for all candidates in a single shift requires extensive preparations, including boosting infrastructure and ensuring secure, transparent centers across the country.

Preparation Was Already Underway

Before the postponement, NBEMS had already completed most of the groundwork for the exam. Centers had been allocated, and students were awaiting the release of their exam city slips, which were initially scheduled to be issued on June 2. However, the board’s official notification later in the day clarified that the exam has been put on hold until further notice.

New Date to Be Announced Soon

The NBEMS has assured candidates that a revised exam date will be announced shortly. The board is currently working on expanding infrastructure and identifying additional centers to accommodate all students in a single shift, in line with the Supreme Court’s directive.

This unexpected delay has undoubtedly added uncertainty for thousands of NEET PG aspirants, many of whom were in the final stages of their preparation. However, NBEMS has emphasized that the decision was made in the interest of ensuring fairness and equality for all candidates.

Candidates Advised to Stay Updated

Students are advised to regularly check the official NBEMS website for updates regarding the new exam schedule and the release of exam city slips. The board is expected to issue an updated notification soon, once revised logistics are finalized.
