The new Sensitive Content Warning feature in Google Messages will now automatically blur objectionable pictures so that children and teenagers can be protected from pornographic content.
Google Messages Blur Feature: Google is now launching a new feature in its messaging app Google Messages, which is being called Sensitive Content Warning. With the help of this feature, if any objectionable or pornographic picture is sent, it will be blurred automatically.
This feature is on by default for children.
This new feature has been specially designed for the safety of children and teenagers. According to a report by Business Standard, this feature will be automatically on for users below 18 years of age. At the same time, users above 18 years of age can turn it on by going to the settings.
Google has divided minors into two groups.
1. Supervised users (whose accounts are controlled by parents) - The feature cannot be turned off for these users. Parents can control it through the Family Link app.
2. Unsupervised teens (teens aged 13 to 17 who have their own accounts) - These users can turn it off from their Google Account settings if they want.
How does this feature work?
This feature works in two ways
1. If an obscene picture is received, the picture will be blurred automatically. This will give the user the option to delete the picture before viewing it. Or block the person sending such a picture.
Not only this, under this new feature, if the user wants, he can also see the blurred picture. If he regrets seeing it, he can also blur it again by tapping 'Remove preview'.
2. If you are going to send or forward a picture: If the picture contains nudity, the system will first warn you. The system will tell you that sending such content can be risky and will ask for your permission.
Complete privacy protection
The most special thing about this feature is that this entire process takes place inside the phone itself. That is, your photos or personal data are not sent to Google's server. It uses Android's SafetyCore system, which is activated only when an app (such as Google Messages) takes its permission.
According to the report, currently, this feature only works on photos, not on videos. If you are not seeing this feature right now, then do not panic. It has been started only on the beta version of some devices and will soon be rolled out for everyone.
