The prices have been increased in view of the increasing expenses and maintenance cost of the railways. The fares of non-AC mail / express trains have been increased by 1 paisa per kilometer and the fares of AC class have been increased by 2 paisa per kilometer.
How much is the price increasing
Railways has increased the fares of non-AC mail / express trains by 1 paisa per km. On the other hand, there will be an increase of 2 paise per km for AC class (such as AC 2-tier, AC 3-tier).
Understand it like this, if you are travelling 500 km, then now you will have to pay 5 rupees more in non-AC and 10 rupees more in AC. Whereas, for a journey of 1000 km, you will have to pay 20 rupees more in AC and 10 rupees more in non-AC.
The distance from Patna to Delhi is about 1000 km. In such a situation, traveling in trains like Rajdhani Express, Sampoorna Kranti, Vikramshila and Poorva Express has now become a bit more expensive than before.
How much has the fare of Sampoorna Kranti Express increased?
The fare of sleeper class in Sampoorna Kranti Express has been increased from ₹510 to ₹520.
Third AC has increased from ₹1350 to ₹1370 and second AC has increased from ₹1920 to ₹1940.
How much is the fare of Rajdhani Express now?
The fare of Third AC in Rajdhani Express has increased from ₹ 2410 to ₹ 2430 and Second AC from ₹ 3290 to ₹ 3310.
Tatkal Ticket Booking
Apart from this, a big change is going to happen regarding Tatkal ticket booking from today. At the time of booking Tatkal tickets, now it will be necessary for the passengers to do digital verification with Aadhaar. You have to link your Aadhaar with IRCTC account. Aadhaar verified users will get OTP during ticket booking, by entering which they will be able to book tickets after completing the verification.
For the first 10 minutes of opening of Tatkal booking window, only those passengers will be able to book tickets, whose IRCTC account is verified with Aadhaar. Even the authorized agents of IRCTC will not be able to book tickets in the first 10 minutes of opening of the window, due to which the entry of brokers and bots will be stopped and the right passenger will be able to get the ticket in the right way.
