Russia is rapidly becoming the new center of employment and education for Indians. Russian companies are giving jobs to Indian professionals amid the strict American visa policy.
New job opportunities for Indians are constantly increasing in Russia. Indian Ambassador Vinay Kumar recently informed that Russian companies, especially big companies in the machinery and electronics sector, are showing keen interest in employing Indian citizens. Due to this, the number of Indian workers is increasing rapidly there.
Ambassador Vinay Kumar made this statement during an interview with Russia's government news agency TASS. He said that as Indian citizens are taking advantage of employment opportunities in Russia, the workload of the Indian Consulate is also increasing.
Russia needs skilled human resources
This initiative of Russia has come at a time when the immigration policy in Western countries like America, Britain, and Canada is constantly becoming stricter. It has become more difficult to get a visa and work permit in these countries than before. In such a situation, Russia is emerging as a better option for Indian youth.
The Indian Ambassador said that Russia currently needs a large number of skilled human resources and India has such workers and professionals who can fulfill this demand. Under the laws and regulations of Russia, companies there are hiring Indians.
In which areas is the demand for Indians increasing?
Till now, most of the Indian workers in Russia used to work in the construction and textile sector. But now the demand for Indians is increasing rapidly in technical fields like machinery and electronics. Companies are liking the hard work, dedication and technical knowledge of Indian employees in these fields.
This is the reason why Russian companies are taking steps towards giving jobs to more people from India. However, the increasing number of Indian workers has made the work of the Indian Consulate in Russia more challenging.
Continuous expansion of Indian community in Russia
Today the number of Indian community in Russia is continuously increasing. It is estimated that about 14,000 Indians live there. Apart from this, about 1,500 Afghan citizens are also of Indian origin, who have settled in Russia for a long time.
Indian students are making their mark
About 90 percent of Indian students studying in Russia are getting medical education in more than 20 universities across the country. Apart from this, Indian students are also making their mark in fields like engineering, aeronautics, designing and computer science.
