On the second anniversary of Moonbin’s passing, 22 K-pop artists came together to honor his memory with a heartfelt tribute song titled Moon: Memory of the Moon. More than just a release, the track feels like a collective letter from his closest friends and peers, one filled with love, grief, and remembrance, to the late K-pop star.

Participating in the project are ASTRO members MJ, Jinjin, Cha Eun Woo, and Yoon San Ha. Rocky, who departed from the ASTRO in 2023, has also joined his former team members for the touching tribute.
Among other artists who have contributed to the song are SEVENTEEN’s Hoshi, Wonwoo, Mingyu, Dokyeom, and Seungkwan; Stray Kids’ Bang Chan; VIVIZ; MONSTA X’s I.M., Kihyun, and Minhyuk; and Moonbin’s sister Moon Sua from Billlie. Kim Doyeon, Choi Yoojung, Naungjae, and SF9’s Chani also lend their voices, making this a rare and meaningful collaboration.
ASTRO members and Rocky penned the lyrics for the Moonbin tribute
The lyrics were written by ASTRO members MJ, JinJin, Cha Eun Woo, and Sanha, along with former member Rocky. Their words reflect the kind of bond that doesn’t fade, even with time or distance. You can feel their closeness in every line.
The meaning of this song is "letters of Moonbin's friends to Moonbin, who is waiting when the moon doors open." The track goes, "When the moon door opens, we'll be standing there. We'll be there. Dreaming of the day we meet again. We will not forget you and wait for you."

BTS’s RM shows support for Moonbin tribute song
BTS leader RM showed his support by resharing the tribute song on his Instagram account. He tagged Cha Eun Woo and wrote, "You worked hard," as he is reported to have played a key role in organizing the project.

Moonbin was found dead at his home on April 19, 2023, in Seoul’s Gangnam District. He was 25 years old.
