Shubman Gill argues with umpire again during GT vs DC clash

Send Push

The current temperature in Ahmedabad is almost 40 degrees, and the extreme heat has been a major hurdle for players of both Gujarat Titans (GT) and Delhi Capitals (DC) as they face off against each other at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad in the revenge week of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

But the extreme heat isn’t just affecting the field; it also seems to have affected GT captain Shubhman Gill, who was seen getting into an argument with the umpire.

Well, this is the second time Gill was spotted having a heated argument with the on-field umpire. A similar scenario was noticed during the clash between RR and GT in the 2024 match.

Netizens react to Shubman Gill’s argument.

As soon as the video surfaced on the internet, netizens and fans couldn’t keep calm. One shared the video with a caption mentioning, “Shubman Gill started arguing with the umpire. Such a cheap cricketer. Should be terminated from the IPL for at least 2-3 years.”

“Shubman Gill is the captain, which shows the intent of his position for his team even in front ofthe  umpire.”

“Shubman Gill not stepping back for his team, leaving all so called achievement like "FAIRPLAY AWARD" for his team,” another said.

“New lafda between shubman gill and umpire 😭 sure we know now why gt is at 10th in FairPlay”

Shubman Gill departs in an unfortunate manner

The Gujarat captain, Shubman Gill, was unfortunately dismissed when he clipped a full-length delivery towards mid-wicket and set off for a risky single, but the run was never really on. Karun Nair gathered the ball smoothly, and, with plenty of time, he nailed a direct hit at the keeper’s end.

Not the first time that Gill got furious

This is not the first time Shubman Gill got furious or had a heated argument with an on-field umpire. During the IPL 2024 match between Rajasthan Royals and Gujarat Titans in Jaipur, the youngest captain of the 17th edition of the tournament was unusually agitated during the match. He was noticed losing his cool at least a couple of times.
