Hyundai Motor India is gearing up to reclaim its second spot in the Indian passenger vehicle market by aiming to launch 26 new cars by FY2030. This includes 20 petrol and diesel cars, 6 EVs, and hybrid models, the company’s leadership confirmed in an earnings call earlier today.

To support its portfolio expansion plans, Hyundai is set to begin production at its new manufacturing facility in Talegaon, Pune, by Q3 2026. This expansion is expected to further its manufacturing capacity, likely including the production of hybrid models.

Hyundai Motor India: FY25 sales performance
Speaking of the carmaker’s sales performance for the recently-concluded FY25, domestic sales stood at 5,98,666 units, down by 2.6% as compared to 6,14,721 units in FY24. On a brighter note, the export figures remained steady, clocking 1,63,386 units, marking a marginal 0.1% increase over 1,63,155 units in the previous fiscal.

Hyundai's SUV lineup remained strong in FY25, making up 68.5% of its total domestic sales. The Creta, which topped sales last month, dominated the midsize SUV segment with a market share of over 30%.

Hyundai Motor India: Launch pipeline
In the near term, Hyundai aims to roll out eight models from its 26-car lineup over the next two financial years. Interestingly, the company is also set to enter the hybrid segment, with a strong hybrid confirmed. Further details about the launches are expected in September 2025.

“We are excited to announce that we will be launching 26 products. This will include a mix of new models, full model changes & product enhancements, by the end of financial year 2030. This will comprise 20 from ICE and 6 from EV segment. Additionally, we shall be introducing new ecofriendly powertrains like Hybrids." said Unsoo Kim, Managing Director, Hyundai Motor India.
