Guwahati (Assam) [India], May 18 (ANI): In a decisive step toward the implementation of the promises made during Advantage Assam 2.0, the Government of Assam, has taken a series of proactive measures to accelerate and expedite the state's industrial scenario, forging transformational advancement in the offing, an official statement said.
As part of this commitment, a significant event was held today at the Srimanta Sankaradeva International Auditorium in Guwahati, where the state government formally conducted land allocation and MoU exchange ceremonies with major investors.
Notably, during the occasion, the Government of Assam signed final agreements in the power sector amounting to an investment of Rs 22,899.71 crore.
The Bharatiya Janata Party, Assam Pradesh, warmly welcomes this progressive initiative by the state government. In an official communique released from the party BJP Spokesperson Ranjib Kumar Sharma stated that these agreements are expected to generate employment opportunities for approximately 5,953 individuals across the state.
He further highlighted that during Advantage Assam 2.0, the state government had signed MoUs worth Rs 5 lakh crore with various national and international enterprises. "Since then, the government has diligently worked to operationalise these proposals, translating investment commitments into actionable projects", he added.
Sharma emphasised that under the steadfast leadership of CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, team Assam has been working tirelessly on a war footing to transform the investment pledges made during Advantage Assam 2.0 into tangible outcomes, shaping a forward-looking and dynamic new Assam.
Following the successful conclusion of the summit, swift action has been initiated on the Chief Minister's directive to advance projects across sectors, including hospitality, dairy, power, and infrastructure, towards full-scale production. These developments mark a significant leap in Assam's journey toward sustainable economic growth and industrial excellence. (ANI)
