Patna (Bihar) [India], September 1 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Congress President Ajay Rai on Monday asserted that the issue of "vote theft" raised by the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, during the 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' in Bihar is resonating with the people.
Speaking to ANI, Ajay Rai said, "...The issue that Rahul Gandhi has raised in Bihar has now become the issue of the entire country today."
"Rahul Gandhi is getting support from all people because Rahul Gandhi has raised such an issue... Small children in every village are saying, 'Vote chor, gaddi Chhodd," he added.
Rai is in Patna to attend the concluding day of the 'Voter Adhikar Yatra,' led by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. The yatra will end with a grand procession in Patna, starting from Gandhi Maidan and concluding at the statue of Babasaheb Ambedkar.
Launched on August 17 from Sasaram, the yatra has covered over 1,300 kilometres, passing through 110 assembly constituencies across 25 districts in the state.
Senior opposition leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, Tejashwi Yadav, and other leaders of the INDIA bloc, are expected to participate in the march.
Trinamool Congress (TMC) leaders Yusuf Pathan and Lalitesh Pati Tripathi are also set to join the Yatra.
Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut said that he will also join Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav in Patna for the 'Voter Adhikar Yatra', which is set to conclude.
Multiple other INDIA bloc leaders have attended the yatra at various points. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, CPI(ML) General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi, and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin have joined the rally.
Other chief ministers, including Karnataka Chief Minister Siddharamaiah, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Sukhu, and Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, also participated in the yatra. (ANI)
