Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing a rally in Bihar’s Siwan, reaffirmed his government’s commitment to the state’s development and lashed out at the opposition for what he described as their history of poor governance. PM Modi announced a slew of developmental initiatives worth over Rs 5,900 crore and made an emotional pitch, saying he considered the people of Bihar his family and that his service to the nation would never stop.

PM Modi promises more pucca houses, flags off new rail and export projects

PM Modi said the NDA government has transformed Bihar from a state once known for poverty and lawlessness into a region poised to contribute significantly to India’s journey toward becoming the world’s third-largest economy. Highlighting key welfare initiatives, PM Modi said three crore more pucca houses would be constructed, emphasizing that his mission of public service would continue tirelessly.

During the event, the Prime Minister launched 28 new development projects, including the new Vaishali–Deoria railway line built at over Rs 400 crore and the launch of the Vande Bharat Express connecting Patliputra to Gorakhpur. He also flagged off an export-bound locomotive from the Marhowrah plant as part of the ‘Make in India – Make for the World’ initiative.

In a significant push for environmental and infrastructure development, PM Modi inaugurated six Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) under the Namami Gange project worth Rs 1,800 crore and laid the foundation stone for further water supply and sanitation projects worth Rs 3,000 crore.

Attacks on RJD, Congress for past governance and dynastic politics

Without directly naming them, PM Modi criticized the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Congress, referring to their symbols “Lalten” and “Panja,” accusing them of pushing Bihar into poverty and chaos during their rule. He blamed Congress’s “licence raj” for keeping India poor while enriching political families and contrasted it with the NDA’s agenda of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.”

PM Modi claimed that the youth of Bihar had eradicated the so-called “Jungle Raj” and that the NDA government was working in the spirit of national icons like Rajendra Prasad and Brajkishore Prasad. He warned voters to stay vigilant against those who once ruled through fear and misrule and are now attempting a political comeback.

Highlighting India’s growing global stature, PM Modi recounted conversations with world leaders during his recent foreign trip. He said global powers now see India as a fast-emerging economic superpower, with Bihar playing a key role in that transformation.

The rally was held amid the inauguration of several infrastructure projects, underlining the central government’s focus on connectivity, sanitation, housing, and manufacturing in Bihar ahead of the upcoming elections. The speech also served as a strategic move to contrast the NDA’s development narrative with the opposition’s past governance record.
