Watch: Jasprit Bumrah trolls captain Shubman Gill for his bowling

India star pacer Jasprit Bumrah, who missed the second Test at Edgbaston, Birmingham where India scripted a historic win, trolled captain Shubman Gill before the start of Day 5.

With England needing over 500 runs runs to win on the final day and with India needing only seven wickets to win, India were already in a dominant position. Skipper Shubman Gill was seen rolling his arm over before the start of play.

After watching Gill bowl, Bumrah took a dig at Gill saying, “Cut pe cut kha raha tha World Cup mein (He was continuously being cut by the batter in the ODI World Cup).”

The pacer was referring to the 2023 ODI World Cup where Rohit Sharma handed the ball over to Gill after India had all but sealed the victory. On that day, Gill had bowled two overs for 11 runs without success.

“Yaad hai tereko 2023 me daali thi Netherlands ke saamne (Remember, you bowled against the Netherlands in 2023),” Bumrah asked one of the teammate.

“Ban hi ho gaya uske baad (He was banned after bowling that),” said Bumrah said jokingly.

The pacer did not play the second Test due to workload management. However, Gill made it clear that he would be back in the playing XI at Lord’s.
