After denying the use of any kind of medication to lose weight, the singer finally admitted to trying Ozempic and other trending weight loss drugs to shed weight. "It's not easy," she said in a conversation about Ozempic on the podcast. She added that she had "tried everything" to lose weight but in the end, she ended up focusing on counting calories instead of taking a weekly jab.

“It’s just the science for me, calories in versus calories out,” added the singer. “Ozempic works because you eat less food. That’s it. It makes you feel full, so if you can just do that on your own and get mind over matter, it’s the same s–t.”

When asked by Paytas about how she was able to control her food intake without a shot controlling the urges, the singer credited two things.

She opened up that she had made changes to her workout and had stopped being vegan or eating plant-based food, after "like 10 years"

“When I was vegan, I was consuming a lot of fake meats, I was eating a lot of bread, I was eating a lot of rice, and I had to eat a lot of it to stay full, but really I was consuming like 3,000 – 5,000 calories a day,” shared the singer.

Now, Lizzo has switched to whole foods such as beef, chicken and fish to feel full instead of eating things that weren't actually filling.

She shared how she added meat back into her diet during a trip to Japan, “I heard the Japanese diet was the healthiest diet in the world,” she said. “My body was so happy. My body was like, ‘more, more please.’ And I was like, ‘ok, this is what my body likes.’

However, she also added that she doesn't like telling people much about releasing weight as she doesn't want them to imitate it and find out that it doesn't work for them. "Everybody's body is different," said the popular rapper who has promoted body positivity throughout her career.
