Use a steel bowl
If you do not have a mold to make dhokla or idli, then use small steel bowls. For this, take a bowl and first apply oil all around it, and then fill it halfway with the batter. Now you can make idli or dhokla with it.
You can use a deep plate.
If you have a deep plate, you can prepare dhokla and idli in it. For this, you have to take a plate that fits in a pot or pan. To prepare dhokla, first place inverted bowls in the pot and fill them with enough water so that the bowls do not get completely wet. After this, apply oil on the plate pour the batter in it, and then place it on the bowls.
Glass will also come in handy.
Glass is found in every house, so you can also use it to prepare spongy dhokla and idli. For this, first fill water in the pan and then fill half the batter in the glass and place it in the pan. During this, apply oil to the pan.
Use muffin mold
If you do not want to use steel utensils, then you can put the batter in a microwave safe tea cup or muffin mold and steam it for 5-7 minutes. Note that it should be made of glass or silicone, otherwise it may melt.

If you are making instant dhokla or idli, then do not keep the batter for too long after adding eno or baking soda. This will eliminate the puffing effect. While putting the batter in any vessel, there must be already boiling water at the bottom. If you are making it in a cooker, then remove the whistle of the lid.
