Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A four-year-old girl kidnapped from near her home in Thane district of Maharashtra was rescued from Chhindwara district within 24 hours, police said on Thursday. The police arrested the 25-year-old man, but the motive behind the kidnapping was not yet clear.
The youth had abducted the child while she was playing near her home at Rameshwadi in Badlapur (West) area at around 1 pm on Tuesday.
Badlapur (West) police station's senior inspector Anil Thorve told media that when her parents could not trace the child, they approached the police and a case of kidnapping was registered against unidentified person. Four police teams were formed to locate the girl.

Based on the technical evidence, a police team was dispatched to Chhindrwara and Umreth police station of the district was contacted. The police finally managed to locate and rescue the child who was found with a man within the 24 hours, on Wednesday police said.
The police were bringing the child and the accused back to Badlapur and further probe was on into the case, police said.
