Mumbai and it's metropolitan regions are expected to witness increased rainfall activity this week as the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has placed the districts of Mumbai, Thane and Palghar under Yellow Alert for Heavy rainfall accompanied with thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds for the next four days. While Raigad is placed under Orange Alert for Heavy to Very heavy rainfall.
As per the local weather forecast for Mumbai city and suburbs for the next 48 hours, the skies will be generally cloudy with moderate spells of rain and there is possibility of thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty winds at isolated places. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 30 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius, respectively.
As of July 20 morning, Mumbai has received 32.70% of its average annual rainfall. The average annual rainfall the city witnesses every year is 2207 mm.
As per BMC data, as of July 20 morning, the city has received 639 mm rainfall, the eastern suburbs have received 809 mm rainfall and the western suburbs have received 713 mm rainfall.

The Hydraulic Engineering's Bhandup Complex has recieved 832 mm rainfall so far.
