Alert: The threat of the infectious disease that caused havoc in July-August is increasing again, cases were also seen in India

Many countries of the world are once again being seen in the grip of a serious infectious disease these days. Amid the still ongoing risks of Kovid-19, there are reports of increasing cases of monkeypox (Mpox) infection in the UK again.

The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has reported in a recent report that the first case of infection with the new and more dangerous strain Clade 1B of Mpox has been reported in Britain. This is the same strain due to which devastation was seen in many countries between July and September this year. A patient infected with this was also found in India.

According to local media reports, the person who has been found infected with monkeypox in the UK had recently returned from Africa. He showed flu-like symptoms, after which rashes and other health complications also started increasing in the body. In the test, he is a victim of the new strain of monkeypox. The patient is currently kept in the isolation unit and about 10 people who came in contact with him are also being monitored.

The monkeypox outbreak is still not under control.
The monkeypox outbreak has been seen most in the African country Congo. The African Union's health monitor has warned that the monkeypox outbreak is still not under control. It can cause a 'more serious' epidemic than COVID-19, and everyone needs to be alert given its risks.

The health department has become even more alert after the super spreader variant of monkeypox or monkeypox virus was detected in Britain.

This virus was declared a global health emergency by the World Health Organization (WHO) on August 14. Monkeypox has killed more than 1,000 people in Africa this year. Cases of monkeypox clade IB have been reported in Congo as well as Burundi, Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, Sweden, India, and Germany.

This type of virus (clade 1B) is believed to spread rapidly and cause more severe disease. The infection can spread mainly due to close contact with infected persons such as sexual intercourse, skin-to-skin contact, and contact with body fluids or droplets of infected persons.

Cases of monkeypox were also reported in India.

On September 23, a 38-year-old man in Malappuram district of Kerala was also found to be infected with monkeypox, the dangerous clade 1B strain was found in him. The youth had returned from the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This year, the two most dangerous variants of monkeypox, clade 1B and clade 2, were seen increasing.

Unlike the clade 2 strain, 'clade 1' is more dangerous in many cases. Its symptoms include encephalitis, pneumonia, and respiratory problems along with complications such as skin and more severe wounds and blisters. Its rate of spread from one person to another is also said to be high.

Alert regarding the danger of monkeypox

Health organizations have advised all countries to continue taking precautions regarding monkeypox. Special emphasis is being laid on testing and monitoring people returning from affected countries so that the spread of infection can be stopped.

WHO said, new clade 1B cases continue to be reported in many countries of the world including Congo. It is important to investigate monkeypox outbreaks, increase control efforts, and provide correct information about it to the people.
