Dan Edgar addresses 'strange' Ella Rae Wise split amid Celebrity Big Brother tears

Dan Edgar has addressed his split from for the first time as she broke down in tears on . The star, 24, and Dan, 34, before she entered the house and put into lockdown.

Following the emotional scene, Dan has now spoke out for the first time about the split. He said in a statement: "The past week has seen a strange turn of events and things have been said that I didn’t really want to comment on, but to put it straight, Ella and I agreed to go our separate ways amicably last week, and were speaking right up until she left to go into the house.

"I think we both have our reasons for why it wasn’t working out, but there are certain things in life I would rather keep private. I wish her all the best and hope she enjoys her experience."

Ella had expressed her sadness as she confirmed her split with Dan just hours before entering the house. “We are not together. And it's really, really sad that we're not together. We split up a week ago," she told .

“It has nothing to do with . It was a decision that I had to make because I didn't feel that we were getting things that we wanted out of each other." We can be best friends, but if something's missing, what are we wasting our time for?"
