During the new episode, the stars shared their verdict on the biggest and best shows on TV, including: The Great British Bake Off, Coronation Street, Educating Yorkshire, The Inheritance, Stranded on Honeymoon Island, The Guest and The Dog House.
However, viewers were left distracted by the new additions, with a flurry of show fans announcing their reluctance to embrace the new faces.
"I haven’t seen any of the new people yet, but they can all go away please," said one early doors. Meanwhile a second viewer shared: "I already dislike the new people." A third added: "Oh, I can’t be doing with new people. They always ruin it."
Foreshadowing the wave of negative reactions, one viewer quipped: "I’m sure everyone will be nice and polite about the new families…." as another said: "Some new people? Oh great, that always goes well!!"
"Just remember everyone was a 'new family' once give them all time before judging the OG’s are the best but some of these may join them someday," another viewer shared.
Not returning for this season are couple Roisin Kelly and Joe Kyle from Glasgow. They announced: "After three and a half years of sitting on the sofa Channel 4 have decided it’s time for Joe and I to stretch our legs and have not asked us back for season 26.
"Therefore we are leaving the Gogglebox family. Time to watch TV in silence for a bit and put down the popcorn."
Gogglebox has been nominated for a gong at the National Television Awards 2025, which takes place next week.
It will go up against Clarkson's Farm, Stacey & Joe, The Martin Lewis Money Show Live and Stacey Solomon's Sort Your Life Out for the Factual Entertainment award on Wednesday, September 10.
