Dermot addressed Nick and said: "Before we kick off the news review, it's so nice to see you in the flesh. We haven't seen you since the start of the summer and congratulations on your wedding."

Nick responded: "Thank you very much." Alison chimed in: "We are so happy for you."

Drawing everyone's focus to the screen behind them, Dermot went on: "We've got a picture of you and your lovely wife. I was thrilled when I saw that, absolutely thrilled."

Nick quipped: "What a lucky girl she is." Dermot couldn't resist observing: "Imagine my surprise and Alison's, when I flicked through the pictures and I thought 'you know what? I wouldn't be expected to be invited to the wedding'".

He added: "But imagine my surprise when I flicked through and saw what I can only describe as the gallery of people who made the cut."

A photo then appeared showing some of the celebrities who attended the wedding ceremony, as Dermot continued: "Clarkson I get, Biggins on the one end and Morgan on the other end."

Nick disclosed: "And Myleene, who played the harp." Alison was taken aback as she responded: "Aw, did she." The TV host then quipped: "What did Biggins play?" Nick revealed: "No he was the vicar, he married us."

Alison exclaimed: "Stop it." Nick went on: "He did and Piers read a passage from the bible." Alison remarked: "I could have read a passage from the bible." Nick interjected: "Yeah but you are too expensive."

Alison confirmed: "I would have done that for free. Weddings and funerals."

A third commented: "Nick Ferrari's wedding and Ben's 50th. They're over. Move on. #thismorning." A fourth fan added: "God this wedding story is getting repeated more than Gyles' #thismorning."
