Good Morning Britain has been flooded with more than 300 complaints to Ofcom after the programme made an error during its report of the Israel conflict on June 19.
The ITV programme was hit with complaints to the broadcasting regulator Ofcom. An Ofcom spokesperson confirmed to the Mirror today that the complaints were over a map shown on the programme which showed Golan Heights as a part of Israel. The Golan Heights are situated in the southwest corner of Syria and borders Israel, Lebanon and Jordan.
The error in the map was broadcast while Ranvir Singh was introducing Richard Gaisford to viewers as he reported the latest on the conflict from Tel-Aviv.

Golan Heights is recognised by the UK government as occupied territory. Fans noticed the error and fumed about it on social media. One viewer wrote: "UN resolution 497 states Israels annexation of the Golan Heights is "null & void & without intl legal effect" & the land is Syrian territory. Only 2 countries recognise Israels annexation - the US & Israel So why does #GMB repeatedly show the Golan Heights as part of Israel?"
Another added: "GMB are sharing imagery that falsely shows Golan Heights, legally part of Syria, as Israeli territory! Israel are illegally occupying this land too!" And a third fumed: "Disgusting ‘reporting’ from @GMB and total misinterpretation of Golan Heights.".
Following the broadcasted error, GMB reporter Sean Fletcher issued an apology to its viewers. He said during a news bulletin the following day: "Yesterday we showed a graphic map which included the Golan Heights as part of Israel. The UK government views the Golan Heights as occupied territory and does not recognise Israel's annexation of the land, and we are happy to clarify that."
Good Morning Britain was hit with more complaints, this time on social media, following today's broadcast as Martin Lewis replaced Richard Madeley on the show. The ITV programme is usually fronted by Richard and Susanna Reid, however, today's show saw the Money Saving Expert step in.
But fans of the programme were divided over his appearance on X. One wrote: "Martin Lewis with his shouty ‘do this’ ‘do that’ and jumping over furniture so early in the morning may just be too much for me".
While another said: "I just don't have the head for Martin Lewis at this time of the morning". But others defended the star as one said: "If you can't stand watching Martin Lewis, stop whining on here and try turning to a different channel you fools. #GMB".
Good Morning Britain wasn't the only ITV programme to be slapped with Ofcom complaints this week as Love Island also racked up 56 complaints to the broadcasting regulator.
An Ofcom press officer has told the Mirror 56 complaints were received over "alleged bullying involving Toni and Shakira towards Emily" on the ITV dating show.
