Love Island's Dejon and Meghave sent a strong message to the haters after being booted off the ITV show before the final. The pair missed out on the £50,000 prize money after some viewers accused them of indulging in a showmance for the cameras.

However, they now appear to have taken a major step in their relationship after Dejon shared a snap of the pair looking very loved loved up alongside Meg's mum at the airport after flying back from Spain.

Captioning the snap, which Meg reposted on Instagram, Dejon wrote: "I said one of the first things I wanted to do when I got back home was speak to Meg's mum and there she was, waiting to greet us at the airport. Some woman for one woman." It comes after ITV viewers slammed steamy bedroom scenes of Meg and Dejon.

Dejon's first encounter with Meg's mum did not go down well during the Family Reunion episode of the dating show. Her mum and sister warned her that she 'lets him get away with a lot', as well as branding Dejon a 'player'. However, Meg defended her man, insisting he had stepped up as a partner.

Despite their pleas to stay, the couple were brutally dumped in Sunday night's episode when a group of 18 ex-Islanders were brought back to the villa to make a major decision.

The excitable gang had to choose between Meg and Dejon and Angel and Ty - who were the two couples voted as the least compatible by viewers at home.

Meg and Dejon received the most votes from their ex-Islanders, and were subsequently given their marching orders.

The couple were the only Love Island couple to stay together since day one, however they failed to make it to the end after some fans accused them of faking their relationship.

It came after the couple had a huge argument during their final date, with Casa Amor bombshell Andrada pointing out that Dejon was "aware of the cameras" before making the decision to dump them. Despite looking downcast - Meg and Dejon revealed they "weren't surprised" that they were given the boot days before the final.

Speaking about their argument, Dejon told host, Maya Jama: "I wasn’t shocked to leave because of the timing of mine and Meg’s argument that we had. I knew people might not like that, so I wasn’t shocked to leave, but I know what we have is real and in real relationships you have disagreements."

Echoing his statement, Meg added: "We weren’t shocked, especially being so close to the end and how things had ended after our date. As soon as we saw the former Islanders come back, we knew we would be going."

During Aftersun, Maya asked Dejon if understood why some people may have thought he had a game plan, to which he added: "Yeah, definitely. Coming in, I just thought, I'm on Love Island. I'm gonna explore connections, I'm gonna be flirty, I'm gonna see what my strongest connection was. But it was always Meg."
