It's quite common to spot a charity shop bargain if you're dedicated to the world of second-hand purchases. But with thrift shopping comes big surprises, especially if you decide to check the pockets of your new jacket once you're home.
Now Chris, who is a part-time seller on eBay and Vinted, recently spotted a pair of Dr. Martens sitting on a charity shop window so had to pop inside to see what they were worth. Then after making the purchase for £45, Chris took them home and gave them further examination. Posting to his 5,000 TikTok followers, he said: "These were in absolutely excellent condition, I don't actually think they've been worn."
Talking about the condition of the boots, he continued: "There was no wear on the soles, it just needed a little bit of a wipe over.

"No damage to them and they did both come with laces."
Anyone who owns Dr. Martens will know a fresh pair doesn't always come cheap. In fact, on the official website you're looking to spend £170 on at a standard pair of the leather boots.
So when Chris saw the Dr. Martens boots for £45, he had to snap them up fast.
"Now you might think I'm mad but I honestly believe these will easily double my money," he admitted.
Then seconds later in the clip, the thrift shopper shared a screenshot of his sale which showed how he flogged them for £86 in the end.
Since he shared the video, it garnered dozens of likes and comments. One said: "Amazing well done."
Another added: "Lovely double up buddy! Got to be done with minimal work like that."
Charity shop bargains are a good way to find second-hand items for a great price. Many people might prefer used clothes as it's cheaper and better for the environment.
They also generate unrestricted income that can fund various aspects of a charity's mission, offering more strategic flexibility than other funding sources.
Meanwhile, this isn't the first time Chris managed a bargain. Previously, he bought a £10 box of rare coins from a charity shop with one turning out to be worth a fortune.
In a TikTok video, he admitted he doesn't know much about coins and asked his followers to let him know their thoughts.
Much to his disappointment, he received numerous comments telling him they're practically worthless and would only bring him £25 if he's lucky.
