It's Groundhog Day for Ruben Amorim, whose Manchester United side have continued in the poor vein of form they ended last season, despite splashing out £230million on new players this summer.
It was a busy summer in terms of incomings and outgoings for the Premier League side, who welcomed the likes of Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha, Benjamin Sesko and Senne Lammens to Old Trafford. Among the several outgoings from United was Marcus Rashford who joined Barcelona on loan for the rest of the season.
The Englishman has been subject to praise since his move which could see the 40-year-old question his decision to allow a player who scored 138 goals for the club to leave. Paul Scholes has also made his opinion clear on Amorim's decision to retain the services of some players at the club.
Among comments on Rashford's start in La Liga, criticism has been thrown the way of two United stars by a club icon just a month into the new campaign. Here are Mirror Football's latest lines from around Old Trafford.
Rashford labelled incredibleRashford has been described as "incredible" by Barcelona boss Hansi Flick, despite Ruben Amorim axing him from his Manchester United plans.
The England star last played for his boyhood club in December 2024before he was removed from the squad later that month to play Manchester City alongside Alejandro Garnacho.
Rashford, 27, left United a month later to join Aston Villa on loan for the rest of the season, where he returned to form. However, upon his return to Old Trafford this summer, he was one of five players told by Amorim to find new clubs.

A move to the Spanish giants came to fruition for Rashford, who is spending the season on loan at Barcelona. Flick recently said of the striker: "I've been following Marcus Rashford since his early days at Manchester United and I've always thought he's incredible. What I've seen these past few weeks is very good."
Scholes tells duo to leaveWith Amorim having had pushed for Rashford's exit, the Portuguese boss also pulled the trigger on five departures, via a permanent sale or loan with Andre Onana, Jadon Sancho, Antony, Rasmus Hojlund and Alejandro Garnacho all departing.
However, two players that stayed have come under fire by Paul Scholes who aimed his wrath at Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw remaining Manchester United players.
Maguire, 32, has only played 41 minutes of football in the Premier League this season while Shaw, 30, has started every game as Scholes lamented their lack of physicality and insisted they are not up to the level of their competitors.

In an exclusive interview with SPORTbible, he said: "I don't think the system was the problem against Manchester City. It's more the personnel. United lack real athletes," he said before singling out Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw. "In the Premier League, you almost have to be like a machine to survive, and we've got people like Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw.
"They are not at the level. In 85 to 90 percent of games, they will probably cope with people, but when you come to the bigger games, against City, Liverpool and Arsenal, they are going to fall short."
With 29 injuries to Shaw's name since joining United in 2014, according toTransfermarkt, Scholes questioned just how damage the constant injuries have done to his body. "You think of the injuries Shaw has had.
"He must have the body of a 40-year-old man because he’s had that many injuries and missed that much football. If he’d stayed fit, he could’ve been the best left-back in the world. Now, he’s playing left-sided centre-half. He really shouldn’t be at the club anymore.

"He should have left along with Harry Maguire in the summer. United should have brought in one or two new centre-halves." Maguire looks set to play a bit-part role for United this season as Scholes said his former club missed out on banking tens of millions of pounds by not selling him.
"Maguire has had so much stick, it’s hard to be tough on him because he came back from it," he explained. "But I think they had a chance this summer to sell. They renewed his one-year option. I just didn’t understand that.
"It was a great chance for him to leave. They might have got £20 or £30 million for him. It was the ideal time. Maybe because he’s good in the dressing room, or good around the place, but football-wise, it’s just not right."
