Mike Tyson has brutal response to Jake Paul's gift before boxing fight

Former undisputed heavyweight world champion was left unimpressed after gifted him a pigeon ahead of their clash on Friday.

After several months of anticipation, the pair will finally settle the score once and for all at the AT&T Stadium in Texas in front of up to 80,000 fans. The two stars were due to go glove-to-glove earlier this year, however, Tyson was .

While fans remain concerned for the 58-year-old's health, 'Iron Mike' remains adamant that he will be fit and ready to make the walk to the ring later this week. Tyson hasn't fought a professional contest since losing to Kevin McBride back in 2005. He did, however, take on fellow legend Roy Jones Jr in an exhibition bout four years ago.

As for Paul, the young American has been fairly active since making his professional debut back in 2020. With a professional record of 10-1, 'The Problem Child' has already defeated the likes of Anderson Silva, Tyron Woodley, Nate Diaz and Ben Askren. His only defeat inside the squared-circle came against last year.

With the fight just days away, both men are in the final stages of their respective training camps. The two boxing stars recently - which was uploaded to the official Most Valuable Promotions YouTube channel.

In the build up to his fights, Paul traditionally tends to give his opponents gifts. The 27-year-old was once again up to his usual tricks by giving Tyson a pigeon from Southeast Asia worth thousands of dollars.

Despite the kind gesture from Paul, Tyson was left unimpressed with the gift and offered a brutal response. He said: “This looks like a low budget pedigree…No one loves him he has no bands or anything. He doesn’t belong to nobody. I’ll feed him to my falcon.”

Many within the boxing community have slammed the decision to go ahead with the event particularly due to the 31 year age gap between the two opponents. Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn is expected to attend the event at the AT&T Stadium to support Katie Taylor in her mouthwatering rematch with rival Amanda Serrano, but claims . "We received a massive offer for Katie. I'm not going to tell her she's not allowed to fight on that card," . "Financially it's the biggest purse of her career. I won't be watching the main event. We'll be there defending the belts, and then I'll be off".

Hearn isn't the only one who isn't a fan of the heavyweight showdown. Behind-the-scenes footage of Tyson's training camp has been aired by Paul’s , providing a sneak peak into his conditioning ahead of the bout. In the video, between sets, 'Iron Mike' revealed to his trainers that some of his wealthy friends had been begging for him not to fight the young American, only for the 58-year-old to offer a clear response. “I have some friends, they’re pretty wealthy", he said. "They said, ‘Don’t fight, I give you money’. [I’m like] ‘You f****** crazy?’".
