Gen V’s second season will return fans to the world of The Boys this week, with one big name from the cast unfortunately missing.
The hit comic book drama based on the series created by Garth Ennis is set in an alternate universe where Earth is populated by powerful and megalomaniacal superheroes.
Prime Video’s first live-action spin-off from the hit series, Gen V, focuses on the students of Godolkin University, a college that trains ‘supes’ into heroes and celebrities while secretly performing dark experiments on them.

Season two, premiering this Wednesday, 17th September, will pick up after the latest season of the flagship series concluded with the most psychotic supe in America, Homelander (played by Antony Starr), taking control.
However, Marie Moreau (Jaz Sinclair) and her Godolkin cohort will be facing a tragedy of their own.

Showrunner Eric Kripke has confirmed key character Andre Anderson will be written out of the series and not recast following the tragic death of actor Chance Perdomo.
The star is believed to have been killed in a motorcycle crash last year on either late 29th March or early 30th March while travelling from Upstate New York to Toronto to begin filming the second season of Gen V.
Also known for his role as Ambrose Spellman in Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Perdomo was just 27 years old.
His death brought production on Gen V season two to a halt as Kripke and the show’s writers made changes to the narrative out of respect for the rising star.
Following Perdomo’s loss, Deadline shared a statement from his representatives and family asking for privacy.
"His passion for the arts and insatiable appetite for life was felt by all who knew him, and his warmth will carry on in those whom he loved dearest,” it read.

"We ask you to please respect the family’s wish for privacy as they mourn the loss of their beloved son and brother.”
Producers for Gen V shared their own statement, expressing: “We can’t quite wrap our heads around this.
“For those of us who knew him and worked with him, Chance was always charming and smiling, an enthusiastic force of nature, an incredibly talented performer, and more than anything else, just a very kind, lovely person.
"Even writing about him in the past tense doesn’t make sense. We are so sorry for Chance’s family, and we are grieving the loss of our friend and colleague. Hug your loved ones tonight."
And reps for Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures Television wrote: “The entire Gen V family is devastated by the sudden passing of Chance Perdomo.
"Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures Television extend our heartfelt thoughts and support to Chance’s family and all who loved him at this difficult time.”
Gen V season 2 premieres Wednesday, 17th September on Prime Video.
