Terrified screams from children echoed through Bristol as a ' mauled a woman at a residence, according to a shocked neighbour.
On Thursday (April 10), emergency crews, including an air ambulance, rushed to Sutton Avenue in the Brislington region of the city, following reports of a woman being mauled by a dog. said the woman, believed to be in her 40s, had suffered potentially life-changing injuries.
The victim was rushed to with serious injuries after the dog attack, which occurred as school children were returning from school, around 4.15pm. An air ambulance landed in a nearby park to take the victim for medical treatment.

A neighbour said that he heard kids shrieking from a house before a sudden silence fell. "I had never seen a dog so nasty in all my life," he recounted.

Speaking to , the neighbour said: "Vicious, he was. The kids were screaming and I thought 'there's something serious going on in there'.
"Then it all went quiet. I thought 'well, he must have got the dog in'. It's a big dog, mind."
Police officers from Avon and Somerset were still stationed at the crime scene as night closed in on Thursday. The force has yet to verify the breed of the offending dog, but it is believed to have been a banned breed.
released a statement: "Emergency services were called at about 4.15pm on Thursday 10 April after a woman was bitten by a dog at a home in Sutton Avenue, Bristol.
"The woman, believed to be in her forties, has gone to hospital by land ambulance, with injuries currently described as potentially life-changing.
"To ensure their safety while entering the premises, officers used protective shields. Police remain at the scene and the dog is secured at the property pending the arrival of specialist dog handlers."
