Let us tell you that McDonald's left Russia in 2022 after Western sanctions over the Ukraine war. After this, the company sold all its branches to a Russian investor, who was already running 25 franchises in Siberia. These branches were restarted under the new name 'Vkusno i Tochka' (which means simply delicious) and these restaurants have been running since June 2022.

Russia's tough stance on McDonald's

Putin told Vkusno i Tochka CEO Oleg Paroyev, that McDonald's left the country putting everyone in trouble, now if they want to return, should we give them a grand welcome? Not. Also, Putin has instructed the government to make rules for the return of those foreign companies that want to return to Russia, but all this will be done keeping in mind the interests of Russian businessmen.

'Foreign companies will have to return on Russian terms'

President Putin also said that if any foreign company wants to return, it will have to return on Russian terms only. He said that if it benefits you, then let them come. If not, we will do something that benefits Russia. Along with this, President Putin also assured that the government will give full support to Russian businessmen and every decision will be taken keeping in mind the benefit of the country.
