Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani made a significant contribution during his visit to the Kedarnath and Badrinath temples in Uttarakhand on Sunday. Ambani participated in special rituals and offered prayers at both sacred sites, donating Rs.5 crore to enhance facilities at the temples.

Accompanied by his security team, Ambani arrived via helicopter. Ajendra Ajay, chairman of the Badri-Kedar Temple Committee (BKTC), shared that Ambani showed keen interest in the ongoing development projects at both temples. "He expressed interest in the development projects at the two shrines. I told him about the reconstruction and development work, which is part of the Badrinath masterplan, initiated by Prime Minister Modi, at an estimated cost of Rs.700 crore," Ajay said.

The BKTC presented Ambani with proposals regarding future plans for the Tungnath temple, known as the highest of the Panch Kedar temples. Ajay provided Ambani with details about the planned reconstruction and beautification efforts for the temple and sought support. "I provided him with details about the temple and requested his support for the upcoming reconstruction and beautification project. He assured me that Reliance Industries Ltd would extend the necessary assistance," Ajay stated.

The Ambani family has a tradition of visiting holy sites, particularly Kedarnath and Badrinath, often making these pilgrimages before Diwali. Last October, Mukesh Ambani visited Badrinath Dham with Radhika Merchant, who is engaged to his youngest son, Anant Ambani. On that occasion, he also donated Rs.5 crore to the BKTC.
