A major UK road was shut off this morning following a crash, causing traffic chaos throughout the day. Traffic on the A56 in Rossendale was held, according to the traffic service Inrix, and diversions were in place as delays of nearly an hour lasted throughout the morning.
The delays happened after a lorry struck the central reservation barrier, National Highways said in an update on social media. Emergency services attended the scene and the driver of the lorry experienced minor injuries.
