BBC fans had their say on Rob Rinder and Rylan Clark's new travel show, with some fans complaining within minutes. The new series sees judge Rob and TV personality Rylan follow in the footsteps of Rob's favourite novelist, EM Forster, in Passage to India. In the first opening scene, the pair arrive in Delhi and try to get through the busy city, but they get stuck in gridlock traffic. Rob Rinder revealed that he'd visited India numerous times; however, this was Rylan's first ever visit, and he had never been to Asia before apart from the Maldives. Fans quickly took to social media to react to Rylan, who moaned numerous times about the traffic.
One person said: "So @Rylan and @JudgeRinderT on @BBC #PassageToIndia. Why the heck did Rylan sign up for this, all he is doing in the 5 minutes that I could sit through it was moan about the roads the traffic, the flying insects, the rickshaw. Goodness me!"
However, one person disagreed and argued: "Just watched the first episode of #RobRinder & #RylanClark #PassagetoIndia It's literally out of this world. Beyond words....TY."
But one person did not agree and commented: "Rylan is typical of many Brits who have only ever been on a package holiday in the med."
Fans did love the show and found it amusing, with one person saying: "Enjoying Rob & Rylan Passage to India." Another also said: "@Rylan I'm tuning in to watch you guys as you take me around India. I've missed you both."
Another said: "Rob & Rylan's passage to India, fabulous TV and, making me really really want to go back to India, such a fabulous place and even in the first episode they're really showing how it talks to you, how its so different and how relaxing it is despite being so so busy and crowded."
Throughout the show, they began their journey in Delhi, India's capital, which is home to 34 million people, almost four times the population of London.
The pair then visited the chaotic street market of Chandni Chowk, where EM Forster began his journey, the 16th-century architectural masterpiece Humayun's Tomb, and the Lodhi Colony, where buildings are covered in giant paintings.
The iconic duo also met billionaire art collector Shalini Passi, as well as activist and musician Naveen Koomar, who invited Rob and Rylan to perform their own self-written rap.
