Critics blast Meghan Markle's latest video with Prince Harry as 'fake'

Critics have blasted Meghan Markle's LA Dodgers World Series win celebration video as "performative" and "staged". In the posted clip, also shared by the Duchess of Sussex's friend, Kelly McKee Zajfen, both could be seen jumping and cheering while Prince Harry, a Blue Jays supporter, appeared much less enthusiastic.

The black and white video shows the camera rolling from the corner of the room to film the interaction between Harry, Meghan and Meghan's pal. Meghan runs over to kiss Prince Harry in a celebration stunt and then leaps and jumps up and down alongside Kelly.

Soon after the video was posted, social media users accused Meghan of "staging" her excitement, calling the video "fake". One wrote: "Totally normal to set a camera up recording yourself for another forced narrative when you're Meghan Markle. Cringe-o-rama again."

The interaction celebrated the Los Angeles Dodgers' victory over the Toronto Blue Jays in the 2025 World Series. On Saturday, the Dodgers became back-to-back World Series champions when they defeated the Blue Jays in the 11th inning of Game 7.

The video appeared to be taken inside the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's private cinema room, in their Montecito mansion. There was no sighting of Prince Archie or Princess Lilibet in the video, suggesting they were not watching the game with their parents.

One critic wrote: "Does Harry realise she is recording his every move inside his own home and can easily release the footage when it suits her?"

Another commented, "So staged! She looks absolutely ridiculous", whereas another wrote, "So FAKE and CRINGE! Makes me want to hurl."

Last week, Meghan and Harry both supported blue Dodgers caps as they attended Game 4 of the 2025 World Series at Los Angeles' Dodger Stadium.

While Markle is an LA native, Harry's show of support for the team surprised some fans, who commented online that they believed that the royal should root for the Blue Jays due to Canada's constitutional link to the United Kingdom.

While at the game, the couple colour-coordinated their outfits with Markle wearing a white shirt with a navy jumper draped over her shoulders with dark trousers, while Harry donned a navy blazer over a white T-shirt with dark trousers.
