A 14-year-old girl has tragically lost her life after allegedly undergoing an unauthorised breast enlargement surgery, which her father claims he was not aware of.
Teenager Paloma Nicole Arellano Escobedo sadly passed away in hospital a week after the operation, with her cause of death reportedly listed as complications due to a respiratory illness. Her father, Carlos Arellano, insists that the breast enlargement procedure was the real cause and is calling for an investigation, claiming the operation was performed without his knowledge.
Carlos alleges that he only discovered the truth at his daughter's funeral when he noticed she had breast implants and scars. He stated: "Her death certificate falsely stated 'illness' as the cause of death in an attempt to cover up the truth."
Paloma died in a hospital in Durango, Mexico, on Saturday, September 20, according to NeedToKnow. Carlos expressed suspicion over the speed at which his daughter's death certificate was issued. He said: "They gave it to us right away, I don't know how they did it so quickly."
The certificate listed the cause of death as cerebral oedema due to a respiratory illness.
After the funeral the next day, Carlos lodged a complaint when he realised there was more to his daughter's "suffering" and death. He alleged there was a "cover-up," and demanded: "I demand that all those responsible be investigated."
The Prosecutor's Office has confirmed that they are investigating, reports the Mirror.

Meanwhile, a devastated husband has paid tribute to his "beautiful" wife who tragically passed away in June just hours after having cosmetic surgery in Turkey.
Ana Barbara Buhr Buldrini journeyed to Turkey from Mozambique with Elgar Miles to have a breast enlargement, liposuction and rhinoplasty. However, the 31-year-old vocalist suffered cardiac arrest shortly after the operations at Tusa Hospital in Istanbul and sadly lost her life.
Mr Miles, who had wed Mrs Buldrini just one month prior, revealed it was his wife's ambition to "improve her aesthetic standards". Reportedly receiving the treatments in exchange for promoting Tusa Hospital, the pair are said to have celebrated with the surgeon performing the operations in Istanbul on Saturday evening.

According to Mr Miles, who is also an artist, his wife was rushed into surgery ahead of schedule, merely two days following an initial consultation. "'Due to scheduling issues, the surgeon decided to bring it forward to Sunday," he explained.
"We went to the clinic on Sunday just to see the place, but the doctor wanted to perform the procedure without Ana being prepared."
Despite supposedly being out the previous evening, Mr Miles claims his wife was convinced to proceed. "The doctor assured me that there were no problems and that everything would be fine," he stated.
Mrs Buldrini underwent the operations and emerged from the theatre by 11pm Sunday. Her pulse allegedly started to weaken, however, and Mr Miles observed a shift in the staff's demeanour.
"They told me to go to the room, the assistants were acting strangely. I waited for 1 hour and 15 minutes to receive her," he said. "I went down to the ground floor and a doctor said that her heart was beating slowly, another said that she was already dead."
