Wolves are expected to reject an offer from Borussia Dortmund for wantaway striker Fabio Silva as they look to extract maximum value from the 23-year-old's sale. Silva impressed on loan at Las Palmas last season and a host of European clubs are interested in signing him this summer.
The Portuguese set Wolves back £35million in 2020 but fans have not seen the best of him in the Premier League, where he has a record of four goals in 62 appearances. The West Midlands club are open to selling him permanently in the current window and they have fielded significant interest after his 10-goal haul in La Liga last term.
Borussia Dortmund have been in negotiations with Wolves over a transfer fee this week and Express Sport understands that an offer worth £17.3m was communicated. Of that figure, £15.6m would be paid up front with a further £1.7m in add-ons.
The proposal is set to be rejected as it does not meet Wolves' valuation. It is understood that Molineux chiefs want £17.3m up front with an additional £4.3m in potential bonuses, taking the total package up towards £22m.
Real Sociedad, Villarreal, AS Roma, RB Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt have also taken a liking to Silva, who is still young and has room to develop despite being on the Premier League scene for five years.
Wolves are expected to start the new season with Jorgen Strand Larsen as their centre-forward. Hwang Hee-chan is another option for manager Vitor Pereira, as well as Sasa Kalajdzic, who is fit again after a long-term injury but could yet be loaned out.
Pereira may have to fight to keep hold of Strand Larsen, with Newcastle United circling. The Magpies are on the lookout for a striker to replace Alexander Isak, who is set to join Liverpool before the deadline.
And Strand Larsen is one of the names on their wish list. The Norwegian spent last season on loan at Molineux, scoring 14 Premier League goals, and his switch from Celta Vigo was only recently made permanent for £23m.
Reports indicate that Wolves could demand up to £65m for the 25-year-old as we approach the end of a summer transfer window which has centred heavily around the movement of attacking players. Silva and Strand Larsen could be two more on the move.
