Surfshark, a leading cybersecurity firm, has announced a massive price cut on its VPN plans just in time for holidaymakers jetting off for their summer breaks. A VPN is essential for keeping your data private and secure, regardless of your location worldwide.
Moreover, it allows access to UK-specific websites and services like BBC iPlayer, ensuring Brits won't miss out on their favourite programmes or sports events due to tracking or censorship issues. By encrypting data from devices such as laptops and smartphones, a VPN ensures user privacy.
Boasting over 3,200 servers spread across 100 countries, Surfshark's VPN can alter a device's IP address to virtually anywhere globally, including the US, UK, Australia, and Europe.
The most affordable plan on offer is the Surfshark Starter, currently available at an astounding 87% discount. Now priced at £1.59 per month, the total cost for the first 27 months comes to £42.93, a significant drop from the usual £331.83.
This package includes a secure VPN, ad and cookie pop-up blockers, a constantly changing IP address, and can be used on unlimited devices simultaneously. Additionally, this deal comes with a bonus three-month period, reports the Mirror.
However, it's important to note that the Surfshark Starter plan does not include antivirus protection. Those seeking a VPN with this feature should consider the Surfshark One plan.
This package comes at £1.99 a month, adding up to £53.73 over 27 months - a steal compared to the standard £369.63 price tag, and it's packed with antivirus, alert, search, and alternative ID services.
This package thwarts ad companies and bots from snooping on people's online activity. It also roots out viruses and malware in real time and pings you if your email pops up in compromised online databases.
There are other VPN options on the market, including NordVPN that offers more than double the number of servers when compared to Surfshark. However, this comes at a higher cost, with its Basic plan priced at £2.39 per month.
Another alternative is ExpressVPN which is said to be easier to use than other services, but it's also more expensive for its 24-month plan. Daily Express tech writer Chris Hall compared the three services and was impressed overall with Surfshark for its 'great value', plus the ability to use it across several devices.

Chris divulged: "Surfshark offers great value for money, and that's one of the big attractions. It's actually owned by the people behind NordVPN, but this is their budget offering, not that the features are lacking.
"There are apps for a wide range of devices, but Surfshark doesn't put a limit on the number of devices on the same contract, so you can sign in across all your devices, making sure your whole family is protected."
Reviewer Chris pointed out a minor drawback about Surfshark, stating: "Surfshark has fewer servers than some of its rivals and can sometimes be a little slower, but unless you're moving huge amounts of data around, that's unlikely to be a problem."
The VPN service Surfshark secures an admirable 4.5/5 stars based on feedback from over 26,000 Trustpilot users. An elated client expressed their satisfaction, saying: "The VPN works flawlessly, is easy to use and has good value."
However, another user experienced a downturn in performance, mentioning: "Since using Surfshark, my mobile works much slower and has trouble loading and using some websites."
Yet, someone else praised the product with top marks in their review: "Easy to use, but still have not used it to its full potential. Have had no issues with it and have been happy."
