Parga, found in the region of Epirus in northwestern , is a resort town famous for its natural environment and seafront landscape - and is strikingly similar to many of the Greek islands which are far more popular with tourists.

It sees thousands of visitors every year who come to relax on the many the town has to offer. Out of the eight beaches it has to offer, the most popular ones are Valtos and Lichnos.

Visitors can take a swim in the crystal blue waters or enjoy the plenty of water sports centres with activities suitable for all ages. Most of the beaches are surrounded by beautiful greenery creating the perfect environment to relax.

Along with the beaches, what gives the mainland town its island feel is the scenic architecture. The town offers plenty of great sites to explore, including its Venetian castle, the Castle of Parga.

Located on top of a hill which overlooks the town, it was originally built by the residents of Parga to protect the town from pirates and the Turks, but such invasions partly destroyed it.

After being rebuilt four times and then gaining a new building, the caste has a café inside which offers drinks and snacks and multiple gift shops. The location is also a great area to go for a walk, as it's surrounded by cypress trees and stone trails.

Pargra is also home to the Olive Oil factory, which houses a restored olive oil press and shows the process of olive making.

As well as the Ecclesiastical Museum which has valuable items such as rare books, holy gospels, church items and the 300-year-old banner of the town.

The blend of beautiful landscapes, beaches, architecture, and activities and it only being a three-hour flight away makes this town a great alternative to islands like Mykonos and Rhodes.
