Farah Khan recently brought her trademark wit to the forefront during a fun and candid interaction with actor-producer Jackky Bhagnani. The entertaining exchange took place in Farah’s new cooking vlog, where she visited the home of Jackky and his wife, actress Rakul Preet Singh. While having some delicious food, the conversation quickly turned humorous as Farah playfully poked fun at Jackky’s lavish home and the financial rollercoaster of being a producer in Bollywood.
As Farah was chatting with her cook Dilip and surveying the Bhagnanis’ stylish house, the choreographer-director quipped that she should consider becoming a producer too. Jackky Bhagnani, not missing a beat, jokingly advised her against it and suggested real estate instead.
Farah’s response had everyone in splits, she mockingly agreed and said she’d rather go into real estate because Jackky used to have 10 floors but now has only five left after turning into a producer (“pehle inke 10 floor the, producer banne ke baad sirf 5 bache hai!”). Her comic timing and cheeky jab sent the entire group, including Rakul Preet Singh, into fits of laughter.
This witty roast comes in the wake of Jackky’s recent box office setback with Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, a big-budget film starring Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff and Prithviraj Sukumaran. Despite a staggering production cost of Rs 350 crore, the film only managed to rake in around Rs 111.5 crore globally, falling far short of expectations.
The financial strain from the film’s underperformance has been widely reported, with several outlets claiming that the Bhagnani family had to part ways with a seven-storey office building in Mumbai to cover debts reportedly amounting to Rs 250 crore.
Despite the challenges, Jackky maintained a positive outlook in the vlog. Reflecting on his father and veteran producer Vashu Bhagnani’s journey, he shared a heartfelt anecdote. He recalled how his father began by selling saris on the footpath and has dealt with many failures over the years. Jackky praised his father’s resilience, saying that no matter how tough things get, he always manages to bounce back, because for him, “the show must go on”.
Farah’s playful humour combined with Jackky’s honest reflections made for a vlog that was both amusing and insightful, offering a peek into the personal side of showbiz life, filled with laughter, struggles and the enduring spirit to keep moving forward.
