Gaurav Sharma had entered Anupamaa as the new Toshu. He had replaced Aashish Mehrotra on the Rajan Shahi-produced show, starring Rupali Ganguly in the lead. After the 15-year-leap that the popular TV soap recently underwent, Gaurav quit citing that he can't play the role of a father to a 21-year-old. Well, the actor has now bagged a new project already!
Gaurav Sharma to enter Badall Pe Paon HaiGaurav Sharma will be seen now playing the parallel lead role in Sargun Mehta and Ravi Dubey’s show Badall Pe Paon Hai. He will be portraying advocate Mahir Dhillon in the daily soap. “I’m passionate about acting and love staying busy. So, when the offer came, I jumped at it for two reasons. First, I was drawn to the concept, the setup, and the production house. Secondly, the show is shot in Chandigarh — my birthplace, which holds a special place in my heart. It’s not just about being born here — I adore the city, the people, the food, and the overall vibe of Punjab. Even though my family moved to Mumbai years ago, I still have a few close friends here, and I’m excited about reconnecting with them,” Gaurav told ETimes. He added, “The cast is incredible. Everyone has been warm and welcoming, from Sooraj Thapar ji to Shefali Rana ji. It’s only been a couple of days since I started shooting, but I can already tell it will be a great experience.”The actor further said, “This time, I’m playing a positive character, which is refreshing. Mahir is a young, charming, and successful lawyer from Chandigarh who has a soft spot for his daadi and falls head-over-heels for Baani (played by Amandeep Sidhu) the moment he meets her. In contrast, Toshu in Anupamaa was spineless, selfish, and arrogant, but I loved how badass he was in the show.”Coming back to Anupamaa, Manish Naggdev has stepped into Gaurav’s shoes to play the new Toshu after the leap. You may also like
