COIMBATORE: The district mahila court in Coimbatore will deliver the judgment in the sensational Pollachi rape case on May 13.
Mahila court judge R Nandhinidevi , who conducted the court trial, was transferred to Karur on Monday evening. However, she will deliver the judgment in the Pollachi rape case before joining the Karur court.
N Rishwanth alias Sabarirajan, K Thirunavukkarasu, N Sathish, T Vasanthakumar, R Manivannan alias Mani, K Arulanantham, P Babu alias ‘Bike’ Babu, Haronimus Paul and M Arunkumar were arrested for alleged sexual assault on several women. They recorded the acts and extorted sexual favours and money by using the videos.
The Pollachi police registered a case after receiving a complaint from a 19-year-old college woman in February 2019.
The investigation was transferred to the CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation). The central investigation agency filed chargesheet against the nine accused in the court.
The court examined more than 40 witnesses.
