Udaipur: The Anti-Corruption Bureau's (ACB) special unit Saturday trapped Udaipur Municipal Corporation's (UMC) health inspector and supervisor red-handed while taking a bribe of Rs 8,000. The accused have been identified as inspector Kamlesh and supervisor Anil.
The accused demanded a bribe from a municipal sanitation worker in lieu of providing duty to the sanitation workers and passing files.
This operation was meticulously planned under the guidance of ACB SP Rajeev Joshi. The complainant reported this to the ACB office, after which the team acted swiftly and caught the corrupt officials. As soon as the bribe amount was accepted, the team arrested both officials on the spot. This action caused a stir in the municipal corporation department.
It is reported that there were previous complaints of corruption, but this time they were caught red-handed with solid evidence. The two accused are being interrogated, and it is being investigated whether there is a larger network involved.
