Jhunjhunu: A man accused of murdering his wife about three years ago was sentenced to life imprisonment and a fine by judge Mahendra Pratap Beniwal of the ADJ court No. 1 in Sikar Saturday.
Karmveer Kudi had assaulted his wife, Sanju Devi, under the influence of alcohol on Aug 7, 2022, and she died during treatment, said additional public prosecutor Gopal Bijarniya. Sanju's brother, Mukesh Kumar from Dhod, had filed a murder case against Kudi.
The court passed the verdict after hearing 19 witnesses and examining 26 documents presented by the prosecution. It also considered the couple's 8-year-old twin sons, Akshat and Aryan, as eyewitnesses in the case. The boys confirmed that they saw their father assaulting their mother, leading to her death.
