One killed during family quarrel

Mangaluru: A man was killed after his cousin allegedly assaulted him on the head with a wooden stick at Maderi in Nelyadi. The deceased is Sharath Kumar, 34. According to police, in a complaint, Charan Kumar, 37, stated that there were frequent quarrels over trivial matters between the complainant's younger brother, Sharath Kumar, and the children of the complainant's uncle, Janardhan Gowda, for the past few days. A quarrel broke out again between the complainant's younger brother and the members of the uncle's household over a minor issue on May 8.

On Friday, Sharath went to his uncle's house at night. While he was standing in the courtyard and shouting at the Janardhan's son Hariprasad, who went to the plantation, returned and allegedly assaulted Sharath on the head with a wooden stick. After he collapsed in the courtyard of the house, the accused allegedly hit his head again forcefully, resulting in his death. A case has been registered.
