Madikeri: A 72-year-old man has been booked for allegedly killing his brother over a property dispute at latter's coffee estate at Abyathamangala village near Siddapur on Tuesday.
On Tuesday morning, S Subbaiah, a resident of Nanjarayapatna, went to the coffee plantation of his brother Vinay Kumar, 50. Kumar was inspecting pipes in the godown at his coffee plantation's line house. Subbaiah took out his gun and allegedly shot the brother in the back; Kumar died on the spot, police said.
The family members filed a complaint with Madikeri rural police station, and Kodagu SP Ramarajan and DYSP Suraj visited the spot. The deceased's wife is a nurse at a govt hospital in Nellihudikeri village near Abhyatmangala. Kumar is survived by his wife and two children.
