Rajkot: A Star Air flight from Jamnagar to Hyderabad was delayed by nearly four hours on Saturday following a bomb threat posted on the microblogging app X.
Jamnagar airport director D K Singh said, "The Jamnagar-Hyderabad flight usually takes off from Jamnagar airport at 2.15pm. However, due to threat message received on X, all 31 passengers were de-boarded. The luggage on the flight was also offloaded and checked. All this took about three hours and 50 minutes."
As a result, the flight departed from Jamnagar airport at 6.05pm.
Personnel from Jamnagar district police, including dog and bomb squads, conducted a thorough check but did not find any suspicious item. Sources said that the threat originated from a tweet mentioning the flight number.
The Star Air team, acting promptly, informed the ATC, which triggered the security procedures. It was reported that a minister from Hyderabad and his family were among the passengers on the flight.
