Chatra: An elephant herd razed two houses and devoured foodgrains in Ganjhuwayan Tola village in Badgaon area under Tandwa block in the small hours of Monday. However, none were injured in the incident.Locals said the herd, comprising up to nine elephants, attacked the homes of Mangala Oraon and Vishwanath Oraon. Over 10 quintals of paddy, three quintals of rice and five quintals of Mahua were devoured by the herd. Local forest officials said they were trying to drive the herd back into the forest.
