Actress Shiwani Chakraborthy, who is currently seen in Anupamaa, says that while shoots can get hectic, she feels blessed to have got good work. The actress adds that she loves her job, and waits to go on the set every day.
“As we all know how hectic it’s been shooting daily 12/13 hours, but despite that tiredness, I always feel if I’m working, I’m blessed. As after COVID, every field has slowed down, people are not getting work. The only motivation I get is — come on Shiwani, God has given you work, you are blessed — and that makes it easy to go to set daily, whether it is monotonous or hectic. And also, I’m a workaholic person. I love holidays though, but after 2/3 days it’s like ohh I’m missing my set,” she says.
Shooting with like-minded people also has its perks, says the actress, adding, “People with the same thinking, or say when you match vibes with them, it helps a lot in your performance too. Because after all, we stay more on set than home. So people with a good and healthy mindset are very important for your good work.”
She adds, “Good chemistry with your co-actors is an important part of shoots. I believe it’s always give and take when it comes to performing, and if you and your co-actors have a good bond off-set, on-set it’s visible in the scenes. You need someone to boost you or correct you. The actors with no jealousy and insecurity have the best chemistry ever, and I’m lucky to have such friends and actors around me — all are super talented and good souls.”
Working with Rajan Shahi is a dream come true, she says, adding, “This is my first show with DKP, but I found this is an institution where you have to maintain discipline and focus on your work — which I think is very important for all the actors. They are always available for you if you need anything. If you want to communicate, they are a call away. And when you feel a home-like atmosphere in your workplace, automatically your performance speaks.”
Meanwhile, she also adds that she loves being part of TV. “TV is always first. It's the audience's choice and views. Though people are now having many platforms, still we have TV audiences in good numbers. Because people from different places — cities, small towns, metro — all have their means of entertainment as TV. And so, TV has to be people’s go-to comfort. Makers always try to keep their audience happy with the storyline or say whatever way to keep audiences hooked up with the show,” she says.”
She adds, “TV shows are evolving and it will keep on growing. Our viewers are also evolving with time. So now makers are trying to change the patterns and also story so that viewers do not get bored. Because nowadays people want more natural things to watch. So yes, change is good for growth.”
